→ One man’s garden is another man’s house

 


 
1.) landscape and structures that appear and disappear
 
During the research for the performance and the exhibition „One man’s garden is another man’s house“ possible.movement has investigated different spots in the city of Berlin, where the phenomenon of appearing and disappearing is very visible. Some of these spots close to the Kugelbahn are some garden plots in the Brehmestrasse, that are currently pulled down, where now new appartement houses will appear, a meanwhile also pulled down supermarket, or the cemetery between Grüntaler Straße and Wollankstraße where you could percieve surprisingly changes every day …


 

2.) The Kugelbahn

 

The → Kugelbahn at Grüntaler Straße in Berlins district Wedding is a special place. In a light-flooded pavilion from the 1960ies we today find a coffee bar and art galery. In the basement there is a club for live music and an old bowling alley. Just a few years ago it was typical suburban bar where they used to sell currywurst and beer …


 

3.) objects / signs / textures

 

During our research around the Kugelbahn, we found different objects, textures, signs or drawings whitch all relate to our issue of appear and disappear …


 

4.) drawings

 

The drawings are made during the research at the St-Elisabeth cemetery. In the drawings the graphic qualities of different objects and textures are shown.
